Our Organizational Leadership & Governance

Rachi Action for Healthcare Initiatives (RAHI) is led by a dynamic leadership team and a diverse, multi-disciplinary Board of Directors. Together, they provide strategic oversight, technical direction, and community-informed leadership to ensure the organization delivers impactful maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) and climate resilience programs, HIV/ AIDS prevention and Awareness interventions, Strengthening SRHR services, Livelihoods programs across Uganda’s underserved island communities.

Patrick Ntege Walusimbi

Founder & Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Patrick is the founder and driving force behind RAHI. With extensive grassroots experience in health and development programming, he oversees the organization’s strategic direction, operational management, and partnerships. Patrick is committed to equity, community empowerment, and ensuring that vulnerable populations have access to essential services and sustainable livelihoods.

Board of Directors

This well-rounded team ensures that RAHI is guided by strategic insight, operational integrity, and community-rooted values, positioning the organization to sustainably improve health, equity, and climate resilience in some of Uganda’s most remote island communities.

Prof. Robert Wamala

Chairperson

Prof. Wamala is Director of Research, Training, and Partnerships at Makerere University. He provides strategic guidance on governance, policy, and academic partnerships, bringing over 20 years of experience in research, project leadership, and institutional strengthening.

Ms. Christine Nakazibwe

Vice Chairperson

A senior pediatrician and emergency nurse, Ms. Nakazibwe offers clinical expertise in maternal and child health. She supports strategic planning and program quality assurance in underserved and emergency-prone areas.

Ms. Kato Lillian

Secretary

An educator and gender equity advocate, Ms. Kato manages schools and promotes inclusive education. She ensures proper documentation of board activities and advises on gender-responsive program design.

Mr. Alex Tumukunde

Treasurer

A financial expert with a background in social entrepreneurship, Mr. Tumukunde oversees financial governance, budget management, and sustainability planning, promoting accountability and responsible resource use.

Mr. Colin Nkrunziza

Board Member (Monitoring & Evaluation)

Mr. Nkrunziza brings expertise in community development and program evaluation. He leads board-level oversight of Monitoring & Evaluation to ensure programs are data-informed, measurable, and responsive to community needs.

Dr. Patricia Ntege

Board Member (Child Health & Nutrition)

Dr. Ntege is a pediatrician with a strong background in childhood diseases, nutrition, and preventive healthcare. She strengthens RAHI’s technical capacity in child health and nutrition-sensitive programming.

Mr. Rochell Batenda

Board Member (Youth & Livelihoods)

Mr. Batenda is a youth empowerment practitioner with experience in vocational training, skilling, and economic empowerment. He advises on adolescent support and livelihood strategies across RAHI’s interventions.

Mr. Paul Luyimbazi

Board Member (Public Health & Systems Strengthening)

Mr. Luyimbazi is a public health specialist with expertise in health systems, community engagement, and emergency response. He contributes to RAHI’s efforts in strengthening health service delivery in hard-to-reach settings.

Ms. Florence Namuli

Board Member (Community Mobilization & Inclusion)

Ms. Namuli is a community development worker with deep experience in grassroots mobilization, social inclusion, and women’s empowerment. She supports RAHI’s participatory approaches and ensures programs are accessible and inclusive.
