ABOUT US

MISSION AND VISION

Mission: To develop sustainable health programs that will improve the well-being hence a productive society.

Vision: We are working towards a healthy prosperous future.

PROJECT GOAL AND PURPOSE

The overall goal of the proposed project is to assist in the enhancement of the social, health and economic development of the population in Busii Island through improved health living conditions and livelihood. The purpose of this project will be to assist the ministry of health, and other non-governmental organizations in Bussi Island to strengthen and expand the delivery of health related services.

In order to achieve this purpose, this project will support a series of mutually supportive and interrelated activities with particular focus on; HIV/AIDS Prevention and Awareness, Water sanitation and hygiene (WASH), Menstrual Health Management (MHM), Maternal Child health nutrition activities and youth empowerment interventions.

Strategies/Methodology

With the growing population and increasing healthcare needs of Islanders in Bussi, we intend to employ a comprehensive plan for improving healthcare facilities to enhance the quality and accessibility of healthcare services in Bussi Island. This project aims to address the deficiencies in MNCH, WASH, HIV-AIDS care and youth services, ultimately leading to improved health care and livelihood outcomes.

We intend to employ the following strategies;
  • Awareness and Advocacy: Launch a comprehensive awareness campaign to promote understanding, acceptance, and ownership of health behavioral change. This will be done through community outreach activities, workshops, seminars, and media campaigns to health behavioral changes, address misconceptions, stereotypes, and fostering an inclusive community environment.

  • Youth empowerment: We intend to create a youth mentoring program with relevant stakeholders from vocational institutions in Uganda. Through the program, coaches and mentors will be invited to offer an interval training in form of vocational training, apprenticeships, skills training, on-job mentoring, internships, mentoring, and coaching to the youth. These programs aim to provide young people with the knowledge, skills, and experience they need to succeed in the workforce. Furthermore, skills training and job placement programs can address some of the root causes of youth unemployment

  • Partnership and Stakeholder Engagement: To ensure the success of the project, collaboration with various stakeholders is essential. We will actively engage local government authorities, Ministry of Health structures, healthcare institutions, educational facilities, youth-focused organizations, community leaders and other community based organizations. Partnerships will be forged to leverage resources, expertise, and advocacy efforts to create an inclusive and supportive environment.

  • Maternal Child health and menstrual hygiene: We, intend to utilize a community persons Institution model to improve MNCH and menstrual hygiene outcomes in Bussi Island. In the first two years, community health trainers will be employed by the project work to build the capacity of the primary groups, cooperative committees, and community groups. The trainers will move from household to household to build awareness and engage women in forming primary groups to address maternal and newborn health concerns. The trained and supported primary group members will then work together to solve identified MNCH problems, claim their rights, and track improvements. In turn, the primary groups will select community health volunteers and trained traditional birth attendants to promote maternal and newborn health in their villages.
